Happy New Year & Monday Makeover Link Party Take 3

Happy New Year!  I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Christmas with loved ones and are ready to get back to creating those lovely tables, foods, decor, and crafts.  Today is the day to link up all your table related projects: recipes, tablescapes, decor, crafts, ideas for quality family time and meals, anything your creating heart desires.

To get this party started, I had planned to share my New Year's tablescape incorporating the free printable I created this week.  Well, I'm going to share a New Year's vignette rather than a full table.

My dining room is currently set up as a Princess Tea party and I just couldn't take it apart yet.  My children enjoyed our anniversary celebration so much that they keep asking for candles and roses with fancy dishes again. Well, mostly my daughter keeps asking.  I think the boys were just in favor of an excuse for goodies.

In response to the overwhelming adorable pleas, we had a tea party tonight after dinner.  We set the table in all shades of pink, lit the candles, {some of us dressed up}, and enjoyed cookies and hot apple cider from the pink rose china.  So, I make no apologies for a smaller display and pictures taken at night, for I know the years I have left that my children desire tea parties with ol' mama are surely waning.  Here's a little preview of the tea party's honored guests.  (My favorite part: The big laughs are from watching Daddy dance!)

Poor little #3 didn't actually get to sit at the tea party tonight, so I threw in a picture of his morning activities...isn't big brother sweet to let them sit on him to ride the "train"?

But I digress to my little ones as mamas are prone to do.  Back to New Year's preparations.

I told you in my introduction to this blog that I will share the good, the bad, and the ugly of creating.  Well, I found the ugly tonight...in the form of a stencil and some glitter paint!  I had planned an adorable transformation of a champagne glass.  I even dragged my poor mom to the Dollar Tree with me on a mission to find a glass (got the last one!). Somehow she keeps coming with me even though I'm sure she's a little suspicious when she hears my frequent "I have a plan".

Said plan did not go well.  I would have shared pictures but I was knuckle deep in glitter paint and getting quite frustrated.  I'll spare you the gory details, but in short, the glitter paint did not play nicely with the adorable little stencil of a champagne glass I was trying to paint, you guessed it, on the champagne glass!  Cue Plan B - crafting tape on clearance at Michael's.  Don't think it will last through a washing of the glass, but it sure dressed up Mr. $1 enough to party with some festive silver balls.

May your New Year be full of joy and crafting projects that turn out as you planned!  Now, get to linking!
