Need a last minute gift or decoration? This week I made the wreath above as a door prize for the Christmas brunch at our church. By purchasing fabric on sale, I was able to make two wreaths for about $12 total. It's a very simple project, but takes a little patience to tie many knots. I can't provide an actual tutorial as this project idea was not my own; however, I can send you to the winter edition of Quilts and More for the original article. I used the Holiday Inspirations fabric from Jo-Ann Fabrics, on sale 50% off this week. The instructions in the magazine are for an 18 inch wreath frame. My local store was out of this size, so I went with 12 inches. It turned out just as well and required less work!
Lessons learned from this project:
- When a magazine says "Make this tonight!", what they really mean is you can make this tonight if you ignore your family, your housework, and stay up all night. Good luck!
- Don't worry about arranging each knot or piece. It all gets jumbled and fluffy in the end.
- I love pinking rotary blades!
Happy Creating!
